With the change and gentrification that has been occurring recently in Brooklyn, it would be interesting to see the neighborhood (specifically the NYCHA housing projects called the “Pink Houses”) in an entirely different light. With this sarcastic approach to branding, I would be able to share and capture the neighborhood’s history and charm. It would be interesting to see how this re-design changes the perception others have of those living in lower-income areas. Mayor De Blasio’s hopes to make this community a center of his affordable housing initiative, which aims to develop 200,000 housing units in NYC.
